Services

nurses-smallWe are an NHS practice and provide the full range of general medical and nursing care for our registered patients. A full range of contraceptive services are available.

The nursing staff can give you travel advice and vaccinations including Yellow Fever.

They perform cervical smears for women aged 25-65 and can give sexual health advice to all our patients. In addition those under 25 can access free condoms.

Lifestyle advice is also available with information on diet & exercise. As well as regular weight checks, they offer help to stop smoking and provide blood pressure monitoring. We can take blood here to save you long waits at the hospital.

Please make an appointment with the doctor when your baby is 8 weeks old for a routine health check.  When booking, please let the receptionist know that it is for your baby’s 8 week check and she will arrange for your baby to see the nurse afterwards to have his/her first set of injections. New mums should also make an appointment with the doctor around about this time for their own check-up.

Further immunisations are due at 3 months, 4 months, 12 months, 13 months and 3 years 4 months for all children. Details of these can be obtained from the doctor or nurse. We feel it is very important that all children are protected from infectious disease as far as possible for their own sake and that of other children around them.

Please bring your child’s red book in when you first attend the surgery after registering.  We will then photocopy this to ensure we have everything up to date.

Teenagers and Young Adults

All patients are valued by us and reaching out to teenagers and young adults is one of our key aims. We are trying to encourage our teenage population to come for advice and discuss any health issues about which they may have concerns.

This can include anything from acne, aches and pains, growth and development, worries about exams or anything they may think is embarrassing.

Sexual Health Education offering a discrete Chlamydia Testing Service and free condoms.

Young Parents Group

The Nurse Practitioner is hoping to initiate a Young parent Group. This will be patient led by more experienced Mums or Dads and chaired by Linda initially.  We welcome your comments, suggestions and ideas for this to get up and running as soon as possible.

Patient Participation Group

We would like to  our encourage patients to make a positive contribution to the services and facilities offered by the practice and are actively seeking volunteers who wish to be involved in our Patient Participation Group.
