Appointments
Whipperley Medical Centre is an NHS registered GP Practice. We offer same day and prebookable appointments and if your need is urgent we will see you as soon as we possibly can.
If your need is not urgent and all our appointment slots are taken, we will see you when we are able and will also provide you with an alternative solution including providing you with details of our Out of Hours service.
Please remember that each appointment is for one person only.
If you wish we are happy to provide a chaperone during physical examinations. Your doctor may offer this or you may request it yourself.
Help Us to Help You
Please do everything possible to keep your appointments. Tell us as soon as possible if you cannot attend, so that the appointment can be given to another patient.
Please let us know if you personal details change i.e. Name, Address, Telephone Numbers, so we can keep your records up to date.
Non-NHS Services and Fees
We are an NHS practice and most services are free to our patients. However, some services are not part of the NHS and a fee will be charged. This includes insurance medicals and reports, employment medicals, private certificates, BUPA/PPA forms, HGV licenses, some travel vaccinations, passport signatures and letters for local authorities, schools, etc. A current list of fees is available at reception.

If you are absent from work less than 7 days, including a weekend, a Self Certification Form can be obtained from your employer. Doctor’s Certificates are only required for absences of more than 7 days and cannot be issued for shorter periods. Only absences of seven days or longer require a certificate which can be obtained by the doctor.
